Full-Time Term Position (9 month term)

The AFM is a crown agency which contributes to the health and well-being of Manitobans by addressing the harm associated with addictions through education, prevention, and rehabilitation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As part of the library team, Human and Corporate Resources Department, this position will provide library services such as: circulation, basic reference, cataloguing and processing, publication order processing and other library-related duties as defined in the job description. Hours of work will be Monday – Friday (8:30am 4:30pm).  Some evening work may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have completed a recognized Library and Information Technology Certificate or Diploma program and have related library experience or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education that includes library courses and library experience.  Automated library system experience is required as well as excellent communication skills to interact with staff, related agencies and the general public. Experience in Microsoft Office software is essential as is an understanding of, and sensitivity to, working with culturally diverse populations. Knowledge of the addictions field is an asset.  Proficiency in French or another second language would also be considered an asset.

It is AFM practice to conduct a criminal record check and child abuse registry check prior to finalizing   the appointment of successful candidates.
A twelve month eligibility list may be established from this competition
