The Administrative Services Division of the Department of Infrastructure and Transportation is looking for a dynamic individual to lead its newly formed Corporate Information Branch. This Branch will be responsible for coordinating, writing and composing senior executive and Departmental responses to information requests and will also serve as a repository and source of corporate, strategic and issue related information for various users.

Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor or Masters Degree (B.L.S. or M.L.S.) from an accredited School of Library Science and several years experience within a government environment. The successful candidate will also require a minimum of 3 years experience as a professional librarian including current experience in all aspects of cataloguing using an automated environment. Experience in project management, the management of human resources including recruitment, selection and management of staff, as well as excellent written and oral communications skills including experience making presentations and the ability to act as an editor for final review is also necessary, and experience with computers and computer software. A well developed working knowledge of government policies, procedures, methods, and ethics is a must. A demonstrated high level of skill in the following critical competencies is required: Interpersonal Communication; Being a team player; Valuing Diversity; Building Trust; Encouraging Creativity and Innovation; Leading; Managing Change; Building Strategic Performance, Planning, Organizing and Follow-up; Managing Stress; Decision Making are also required. Experience with MS Windows and Office products is an asset.

Duties:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Administrative Services Division, this position is responsible for working with the Deputy Minister's Office to develop and manage an operational framework for an efficient and effective information resource business unit including the establishment of a full range of information services, policies and procedures to meet Departmental needs. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Branch staff and ensuring the development of administrative and process flow structures for the Branch as well as the development and maintenance of an electronic information database including procedures for data collection and access. The incumbent will also be responsible for insuring the preparation of confidential and political sensitive correspondence in a timely fashion at both internal and external levels including briefing and speaking notes, ad hoc information and formal correspondence for various internal and external users including senior mangers, deputy ministers, the legislature, Treasury Board and others who may need the services of the Branch.

An eligibility list may be established for similar positions that occur over the next 12 months.
