William and Catherine Booth College is a Christian university college rooted in The Salvation Army’s Wesleyan theological tradition and devoted to excellence in higher education. Periodicals Coordinator

Use this part time position (25 hours per week, working days, some evenings and Saturdays) to develop a working knowledge of the inner workings of an academic and public library. From cataloguing to reference work, as a member of the library team, this is an excellent place develop a wide range of skills and expertise. Responsibilities include:
- Journal check-in and maintenance
- Processing donations – some derived cataloguing and editing of MARC tags
- Processing labels, laminating, coverings
- Supervising students and undertaking research
- Shared duties: circulation, reference assistance, tours and orientations

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates will possess energy and self-motivation, initiative, excellent problem solving and analytical skills, and strong communication, research, computer and interpersonal skills. Friendliness, enthusiasm, tact, resourcefulness, a co-operative spirit, and a sense of humour are indispensable. Preference will be given to candidates possessing post-secondary training in library technology or library and information science.

TERM POSITION: To November 20, 2009

COMPENSATION: $11.00 – 13.00 per hour, dependent upon qualifications.
