Qualifications:
A master's degree from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent. Proficiency in the use of library automated systems, information technology (including the Internet) and general computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc).
One year experience in reference services, preferably in a health sciences library, including experience in online searching and library instruction. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Mature, professional manner. Ability to coordinate the work of others and provide leadership. Ability to interact well with
health care professionals.

Where a student is the successful candidate, the terms and conditions of employment, including remuneration, will be governed by the Teaching Assistant/Marking UM/CUPE 3909 Collective Agreement. Where an UMFA member is the successful candidate, the terms and conditions of employment, including remuneration, will be governed by the UM-UMFA Collective Agreement.
If the posted course is with Distance Education, the successful candidate who is a student will be a "Distance Education Instructor".
