MLA Call for Nominations

The Manitoba Library Association is accepting nominations for a number
of positions on our board beginning in May 2010. Nominees to the board will be appointed by acclamation at the Annual General Meeting during the Manitoba Libraries Conference, May 17 - 19. All positions are held  for a term of two years, with the exception of Vice-president, which involves a three-year commitment as vice-president, president and past-president.

The vacant positions include one officer (Vice-president) and 6 director
positions. The directors are assigned to a variety of standing committees depending on their interests. Some directors will chair
committees and others will serve as directors-at-large with membership
on various committees.

We are looking for directors who are interested in chairing the following committees, as well as two directors-at-large and vice-president.

* Advocacy Director
* Communications Director / Website
* Conference Director
* Director-at-large
* Director-at-large
* Vice-president (officer)

Board meetings are typically held in Winnipeg. Those living in rural
Manitoba may participate in meetings via teleconference. We are also
able to assist in covering a portion of travel expenses. Please ask for
further details.

The deadline for receiving nominations is April 15. Nominations may be
submitted to Carolyn Minor, cminor@winnipeg.ca, 986-4206
or to manitobalibrary@gmail.com.
